Software use & colleague sharing

A proposed fair-use model for teachers; not yet an effective release-specific redistribution license.

Draft status · 31 October 2026: The GuroNexa PH operator has approved the free colleague-sharing direction below. Formal redistribution permission for a named application release becomes effective only when its authorship, third-party notices and distribution rights have been checked and an applicable license is officially published. This page does not replace any existing third-party license.

Who this proposal is for

Teachers, advisers, school staff and educational institutions in public and private schools. Ordinary teaching or school work does not become prohibited just because an educational institution charges tuition.

Approved direction: free educational use

For GuroNexa PH-owned components that the operator is entitled to license, the intended license will allow teachers and schools to download, install and use approved free releases for teaching, lesson planning, assessment, and school reporting without a software license fee. Schools may keep reasonable clean backup copies for authorized use.

Approved direction: clean ZIP sharing with colleagues

Once rights and release-specific terms are verified, colleagues may share complete, original, unchanged official ZIP files at no charge, including via USB drive or internal school network. Preserve the application name, original developer credit, version label, notices, release-candidate warnings, and available checksums. Identify the official source and provide the official download link where practicable.

Never include personal or confidential data

Do not add learner databases, grades, attendance files, backups, personal workspaces, exported reports, passwords, API keys, or any other confidential records to a shared software archive. Never circulate a used installation folder as if it were a clean distribution ZIP.

Restrictions under consideration

Do not sell or charge a redistribution/license fee for the covered GuroNexa PH software, misrepresent modified versions as official releases, remove developer/version acknowledgments, or imply that the products are official DepEd applications. A free-to-download executable is not automatically open-source software; any source-code, modifications, and third-party components remain subject to their actual licenses and applicable law.

This list identifies releases under review; it does not mean an operative GuroNexa-issued license has been attached to these existing ZIPs. The offline Quiz Bowl package and teacher PDF resources need separate verification and are not automatically covered by this proposed Windows-app license.

What happens before the grant becomes effective?

The operator must verify ownership and third-party rights, decide the final terms including appropriate warranty/limitations language, identify each version covered, and publish a dated official grant through the website and/or GitHub release pages. Original release ZIPs and SHA-256 values must not be silently modified. The current official download links remain the safest method for recommending these applications to colleagues.
