GURONEXA PRACTICAL GUIDE

Independent educational resource · Approx. 6 min reading time. Review applicability to your school before use.

Begin with verified competencies

Start from the applicable teacher-verified curriculum or teaching plan. Avoid inventing curriculum codes or week placements when the source is unavailable.

Lock item allocations

Decide how many items each competency and thinking level will receive. The sum must match the target number of questions, and every item must map to one defined slot.

Write the corresponding items

For each slot, write a clear stem, appropriate stimulus when needed, plausible distractors, and one defensible correct answer. Use context to assess thinking, not simply to make the question longer.

Audit before export

Check item numbering, answer keys, consistency with learning materials, grammatical clarity, and cognitive demand. Run a final teacher review before classroom use.

WORKED CLASSROOM EXAMPLE

Worked example: a 20-item classroom test allocates 6 items to Competency A, 8 to B, and 6 to C. The total is 6 + 8 + 6 = 20. Give each question a unique item number and a competency code so the final question paper can be checked against the locked blueprint.

Teacher review checklist

  • Competencies trace to a teacher-verified source
  • Total allocated items equals target test length
  • Every numbered item maps to exactly one competency slot
  • Choices and correct answers have been reviewed
  • No unsupported curriculum codes or page numbers appear

Check the original guidance
